Often as not during guides days on the water we see  many unusual things, one of which l saw today.
Plecoptera, Stoneflies.
I was well aware that  they do live in the White river for l have seen evidence of them in the past.  Some years back a pretty nice Brown l netted coughed up two very large  stonefly nymphs, and l have see a couple of shucks stuck to rocks in the  past.
This morning l witnessed a emergence of stonefly in  the Buffalo shoals region. I am not sure exactly what species they are as there  are very many known in the States. They could well be in the order of  Pteronarcyidae. Either way it was nice to see the adults crawling on the rocks  and then as they lifted off being wind blown across the river.
